ELON, N.C. – On Thursday, July 29, the Colonial Athletic Association announced its men’s basketball conference schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
After adjusting the format last season, the CAA plans to return to its traditional home-and-home round robin schedule for the 2021-22 year.
The CAA basketball regular season will tip off on Wednesday, Dec. 29, and will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 26. Following the regular season, the CAA Tournament will be held at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. from March 5-8.
A broadcast schedule will be announced in the next several weeks.
Elon men’s basketball begins its conference schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 29, when it hosts Northeastern at Schar Center. Two days later, the Phoenix will welcome Hofstra to Schar Center for a New Year’s Eve matchup with the Pride. The following week, Elon is set to take on its travel partner, William & Mary (Jan. 5), to round out a three-game homestand to begin CAA play.
The Phoenix hits the road for the first time in conference play on Sunday, Jan. 9, when it travels to Charleston, S.C. to take on the Cougars. Elon then remains on the road for a matchup with UNCW on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
Other key contests for the Phoenix includes a matchup with defending CAA regular-season champion James Madison on Jan. 17 and a rematch of last season’s CAA Championship game against Drexel on Jan. 20.
