The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Washington and surrounding counties next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.
¯ I-77 resurfacing: A resurfacing and concrete joint repair project is taking place on I-77, between Exits 6 and 16. The driving lane of I-77 north is closed. Estimated completion: Aug. 1.
¯ City of Marietta traffic signal/pedestrian safety improvements: A traffic signal and pedestrian safety improvement project is taking place at various locations in the City of Marietta, including: Fifth Street at Washington Street, at Garfield Avenue and at Wooster Street; Sixth Street at Warren Street and at Montgomery Street; and North Seventh Street between Ephraim Cutler Street and Wooster Street. There will be periodic daily lane closures in place. Estimated completion: Sept. 1.
¯ As part of this project, southbound Seventh Street from Ephraim Cutler Street to Wooster Street will be closed from July 12-Aug. 13. Northbound Seventh Street traffic will be shifted into the southbound lane from Ephraim Cutler Street to Tupper Street. (See the Thursday edition of the Times for more details).
¯ Ohio 60 landslide: One lane of Ohio 60 is closed 1.5 miles south of Lowell due to a landslide. Temporary traffic signals and a 12-foot width restriction are in place. Estimated completion: Aug. 1.
¯ Ohio 555 bridge replacement: One lane of Ohio 555 is closed between Barton Road (Township Road 714) and Ohio 676 for a bridge replacement project. Temporary traffic signals and an 11-foot width restriction are in place. Estimated completion: Nov. 1.
MONROE COUNTY
¯ Ohio 537 landslide repair/realignment: A landslide repair and realignment project is taking place on Ohio 537. The project involves the construction of a new 0.55-mile section of Ohio 537, which includes retaining walls, drainage structures, and the removal of a portion of the existing Ohio 537.
¯ One lane of Ohio 537 is closed between Township Road 307 and Pleasant Ridge Road (County Road 73). Temporary traffic signals and a 12-foot width restriction are in place.
¯ One lane of Ohio 537 is closed between Township Road 678 and Township Road 307.
¯ Temporary traffic signals and a 12-foot width restriction are in place.
Estimated restriction end date: May 25, 2022. Estimated completion: Dec. 1, 2022.
¯ Ohio 260 landslide: One lane of Ohio 260 is closed between Merrill Ridge Road (County Road 105) and Witten Creek Road (County Road 15) due to a landslide. Temporary traffic signals and a 12-foot width restriction are in place. Estimated completion: Nov. 1.
¯ County Road 29 bridge rehabilitation: A bridge rehabilitation project is taking place on County Road 29 (Sunfish Creek Road), 0.85 miles east of Ohio 26. The road is closed. The detour is Ohio 26 to Altitude Miller Hill Road (County Road 6). Estimated completion: Oct. 30.
¯ Ohio 255 resurfacing: A resurfacing project is taking place on Ohio 255, between Ohio 7 and Ohio 800. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: Sept. 30.
¯ Ohio 800 resurfacing: A resurfacing project is taking place on Ohio 800, between Ohio 7 and Ohio 255. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: Sept. 30.
MORGAN COUNTY
¯ Ohio 60 landslide repair: One lane of Ohio 60 is closed between Ohio 37 and Clemens Lane (Township Road 700) for a landslide repair project. Temporary traffic signals and an 11-foot width restriction are in place. Estimated completion: Oct. 31.
¯ Ohio 266 culvert project: One lane of Ohio 266 is closed between Columbus Road (Township Road 80003) and Hanson Hill Road (Township Road 178) for a culvert construction project. Temporary traffic signals and a 10-foot width restriction are in place. Estimated completion: Oct. 1.
¯ Ohio 284 resurfacing: A resurfacing project is taking place on Ohio 284, between Ohio 83 and the Muskingum County line. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. Estimated end date: July 13.
¯ Ohio 376 resurfacing: A resurfacing project is taking place on Ohio 376, between Ohio 266 and the Muskingum County line. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: Sept. 10.
¯ Ohio 60/Ohio 78 intersection improvement project: An intersection improvement project is taking place at the intersection of Ohio 60 and Ohio 78, one block south of the McConnelsville Square. As part of the project, the signal is being upgraded and improvements are being made for pedestrian safety. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: July 31.
NOBLE COUNTY
¯ Ohio 821 tunnel grouting and landslide repair: One lane of Ohio 821 is closed between Tunnel Hill Road (County Road 59) and Corwin Road (Township Road 99) for an abandoned railroad tunnel grouting and landslide repair project. Temporary traffic signals and a 12-foot width restriction are in place. Estimated completion: Oct. 15.
¯ Ohio 821 culvert project: A culvert construction project is taking place on Ohio 821 in Noble County, between Ohio 339 and Main Street.
¯ The road is closed through July 12. ODOT’s detour is Ohio 821 to I-77 to Ohio 78 to Ohio 821.
¯ One lane will be closed and temporary traffic signals will be in place from July 13-Oct. 1.
¯ Ohio 821 culvert project: A culvert construction project is taking place on Ohio 821, between Sycamore Street (Township Road 1005) and Gorby Street (Township Road 1003).
¯ One lane is closed through July 18. Temporary traffic signals and a 10-foot width restriction are in place.
¯ The road will be closed from July 19-Aug. 2. ODOT’s detour is Ohio 340 to Ohio 146 to Ohio 672 to Ohio 821.
¯ From Aug. 3-Sept. 1, one lane will be closed. Temporary traffic signals and a 10-foot width restriction will be in place.
Estimated completion: Nov. 15.
¯ Ohio 147 landslide repair: A landslide repair project begins on July 19 on Ohio 147, between Ohio 146 and Hannahs Road (Township Road 460). One lane will be closed. Temporary traffic signals and an 11-foot width restriction will be in place. Estimated completion: Nov. 1.
¯ Ohio 78 landslide repair: A landslide repair project begins on July 26 on Ohio 78, between Homer Guiler Road (Township Road 1127) and Ohio 147. One lane will be closed. Temporary traffic signals and a 12-foot width restriction will be in place. Estimated completion: Oct. 15.
