The Premier League will have a new live broadcast distribution model in Singapore, with Aser Ventures’ LiveNow streaming platform to offer single match passes for the 2021/22 season.
Under a sublicensing agreement with local telecommunications company Singtel, LiveNow will provide pay-per-view (PPV) passes for one fixture from English soccer’s top-flight per each match week. LiveNow users will also have the opportunity to follow games live across multiple devices and have access to ‘watch together’ features.
Up until now live coverage of Premier League games in Singapore have been limited to the two main telecommunications firms, Singtel and Starhub, who have broadcast matches via full season subscription packages.
Singtel has exclusive rights to the Premier League in Singapore but under local regulations, it is required to share distribution with rival StarHub.
The Singaporean deal for Premier League matches adds to LiveNow’s local PPV soccer portfolio that includes the ongoing Uefa Euro 2020 national team tournament.
Peter Leible, LiveNow’s head of sport, said: “LiveNow was founded on the principle of providing ‘choice’ for customers and offering flexibility in how they can buy and consume content. We’re delighted to provide a pay-per-view option for football fans in Singapore, to watch one of the most competitive leagues in football: the English Premier League.”
