Pep Guardiola reckons Brighton will be fighting to be champions this season … yes you have read that right.
The Seagulls beat Manchester City 3-2 at the back-end of last season but Guardiola says he is not motivated by revenge ahead of their meeting tomorrow.
In his press conference this afternoon, Guardiola said: “I know exactly the game we’re going to face and the players know. Absolutely not (sense of revenge), in football you win and lose.
“I enjoy watching Brighton, it’s an exceptional team.
“Last season we were champions, we were preparing for Champions League final, this season we’re fighting to be champions. I think they (Brighton) are the same.”
